Dr. Stephanie Traynor is the Deputy Director for the Division of Prevention and Behavioral Health Services. Stephanie most recently served as the Clinical Director for the Sussex County office of Aquila of DE, Inc. In this role, she was responsible for supervising all operations of an outpatient clinic which provides mental health and substance use outpatient treatment for youth and adults. These services ranged from traditional office-based therapy to community-based programming, spanning prevention and treatment services, and included complimentary psychiatric medication management and MAT (Vivitrol and Suboxone). Over the years, Stephanie has also managed her own private practice, specializing in substance use, trauma, grief and loss, as well as sexuality and gender. She has also facilitated consultation and training on trauma and loss, cultural competency, ethics and leadership.
Prior to joining Aquila, Stephanie held positions as Executive Director at Supporting KIDDS and Director of Mental Health Services at the Latin American Community Center. She has experience teaching at the University level, writing and managing grants, and providing evidence-based practices. Stephanie holds a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and an M.B.A. in Health and Medical Services Administration from Widener University. She is bilingual and holds an M.A. in Spanish from the University of Delaware. She remains involved with Widener University’s Graduate Programs in Human Services as a supervisor and has, to date, participated in international professional development opportunities in India, Japan, Mexico, Costa Rica, and the Netherlands.
