Sue Weber serves as the Director of the Division of Management Support Services (DMSS) for the Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families (DSCYF). In this role, she leads the division’s operational, financial, and administrative support functions, working closely with teams across the Department to ensure strong, efficient services that help advance the agency’s mission.
With a diverse and extensive background in human resources, leadership, and operations, she brings a wealth of experience to her role. Before rejoining DSCYF, she served as the Human Resource Director for the Department of Health and Social Services, and earlier in her career, she held employee and labor relations positions within both DSCYF and the Department of Correction. Sue also worked in the federal criminal justice system and held leadership and human resource roles in the private sector and nonprofit organizations across various industries. Additionally, she has shared her expertise as an adjunct faculty member at Wilmington University, teaching graduate courses in leadership, human resource management, training and development and marketing.
Her career journey began in early childhood development, working with young children and families. She served as a Child Care Center Director and spent several years supporting homeless children and families.
Sue’s leadership style focuses on open communication, collaboration, integrity, empathy, and recognition. She is passionate about creating an environment where every team member can thrive and believes in streamlining processes, encouraging innovation, and celebrating successes.
Sue is a Delaware native and has lived and worked in all three counties. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware’s College of Human Resources, with a concentration in Early Childhood Development and Education, and a Master of Science degree in Management from Wilmington University, with a focus on Human Resource Management and Leadership Development. Outside of work, Sue enjoys reading, crafting, spending time at Delaware’s beaches, and being with family and friends. She is a proud wife, daughter, sister, aunt, stepmom and dog mom.
