We have a long name at the Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families, but it has to encompass all those who we strive to serve each day. We are here to serve the state’s most vulnerable children, youth and families when they need us most.

Our mission is to engage families and communities to promote the safety and well-being of children through prevention, intervention, treatment and rehabilitative services. It’s critical work that involves our staff of more than 1,400 partnering with youth and families to seek better outcomes every day.

You can be a partner in our mission, too. Learn how to spot the signs of child abuse and neglect and how to report it to our anonymous web portal or telephone hotline (800-292-9582). Find prevention programs to strengthen your family and support a child’s behavioral health needs. Learn the warning signs of suicide and where to go for 24-hour mobile response and stabilization services (800-969-HELP). Learn how you can support youth in our foster care network. Consider adoption and learn about the support services that are available to families after they’ve established permanency.

If you have a youth who has been involved in the juvenile justice system, learn what we’re doing to help them change their behaviors and get on the right path.

We have a wealth of information and resources here. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, please let us know and we will help you find it.

Thank you!
