Welcome to The Children’s Department web site.
Our Department is committed to excellence in serving children and their families now and for the future. Delaware families are not immune to substance abuse, poverty, and violence. Therefore, the well-being of many of Delaware’s children depends upon this department and its partners.
Our vision to "Think of the Child First" is the driving force in everything we do. With the leadership of our Governor and support of the General Assembly, we help strengthen families and communities so that children can be raised in a nurturing environment, and provide direct services for those families with more complex needs.
This web site is offered to enhance the awareness and understanding of the services we provide to the people of Delaware as we work with others to benefit the children of this State.
