Town Hall Discussion Puts Spotlight on Underage Drinking Ahead of Labor Day Weekend

The Delaware Children’s Department’s Division of Prevention and Behavioral Health Services, First State Community Action Agency and Brandywine Counseling & Community Services.

State and local organizations are joining together to host a town hall meeting on underage drinking. The event is free to the public. Lunch will be served and raffle prizes will be given away.

The Delaware Children’s Department launched their Step Up campaign as an outreach effort to encourage parents and other adults to take a more active role in the prevention of underage drinking. This is one of many town halls being held across the state, throughout the year, to spread this message of prevention, engage parents and their children and challenge local communities to get involved and help save lives.

With Labor Day celebrations occurring the following weekend, this event will also serve as a timely reminder to parents and teens that while holidays are a special occasion, it’s never OK to allow anyone under the age of 21 to drink.
