Bernard Hopkins to Inspire Youth During Evening Speaking Engagement in Wilmington

Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins Comes to Wilmington to Inspire Youth The former Two-Division World Champion will speak with youth on probation and other at-risk youth about overcoming hardships and turning negatives in life into positives.

Hopkins will host an inspirational discussion focusing on overcoming obstacles, making positive life changes and working hard to achieve goals and dreams.

Though the Delaware Children’s Department’s Division of Youth Rehabilitative Services often procures speakers to talk with kids in our secure care facilities, it isn’t often that a speaker is able to meet with youth who are in the community. By providing the youth with an opportunity to listen to and speak with someone who has come from a similar upbringing – and has gone on to become a respected, accomplished athlete – we hope it will provided them with added incentive to continue making positive life choices and to work hard at achieving their goals.

“I am looking forward to meeting with youth in Wilmington,” said Hopkins. “It means a great deal to me to be able to go into the community and do what I can to make an impact. There are a lot of kids out there who are on the edge of doing the right thing and doing the wrong thing. I hope that by sharing my experience, I inspire these kids to do what is right and change their lives for the better.”

Wednesday, February 9, at 5 p.m.

119 Lower Beech St., 2nd Floor Auditorium, Wilmington, DE 19805
