Serious Juvenile Offenders Program

The Serious Juvenile Offender (SJO) Unit provides supervision to many of the state’s most serious and violent juvenile offenders. They provide a minimal tolerance, accountability focused approach to youth that have been adjudicated of serious felonies and who have been released from residential placement to the community. They frequently partner with police agencies in conducting curfew checks and special Task Force initiatives.

The unit also is responsible for search and apprehension of probationer’s that have absconded supervision and have probation violation warrants pending against them. They also assist police and DFS counterparts in locating Missing Children, whose whereabouts are unknown, but are receiving services from the Department.

The unit is headed by a Senior Probation Officer Supervisor and has four Senior Probation Officers. The unit is housed at the Cleveland White Building at the Delaware Youth and Family Center .
