KALIHA, an African-American female born in 2005, has black hair, a medium complexion, and big brown expressive eyes.  A cute, friendly toddler with a bright smile, she is active and inquisitive. She attends day care and usually plays well with other children; on occasion she becomes frustrated and a bit aggressive with peers and adults.  Kaliha receives services for her diagnosed speech delay.  Her frustration is likely related to her inability to properly express her emotions.  Kaliha also attends weekly therapy to help address behavior difficulties, as well as to process the emotions of being in foster care while waiting for her forever family.  Kaliha is up to date on immunizations and is healthy.  She enjoys most games and toys and has a good appetite for many different foods.  Kaliha has a good relationship with her current foster mother, whom she sees as a grandmother figure.  Her foster family is not an adoptive resource. Her foster mother is very involved in her care and will be an asset once her forever family is identified and a transition begins.

NA’HEIM, born in 2001, is legally free.  As his mother's second oldest child, he has a natural inclination toward leadership/strength.  His siblings have been adopted or are with their birth parents.  Very energetic with self-pride/determination, he is always willing to show off his muscles; watching him 'flex' while his face is scrunched with effort is a reminder of his spirit maintained through overwhelming hardships.  He loves to play games, especially Sorry and Uno, and is competitive. A sports fan, he is always up for a game of basketball or football.  He can be pleasant and affectionate. Throughout all of his life’s changes, Na'Heim has remained at grade level, a credit to his determination.  He falls within normal developmental levels, participates in therapy, and has an IEP.  He does extremely well when given a goal.  He has an endearing personality, tremendous potential for success, true innocence, and desire to succeed. Is yours the stable family that could provide loving role models to give Na'Heim an opportunity to excel?

JESUS is a twelve-year-old boy with a great sense of humor.  He warms up to new people pretty quickly and can be sweet and funny.   He is a smart kid, but he has a hard time getting motivated in school.  The struggles he faces with academics seem to be related to his feelings of sadness.  He needs the proper love and attention from a family that will be supportive and caring.   He attends counseling to address issues related to separation and loss.  He loves his younger sister very much and he has had a hard time being separated from her. He speaks to her on the phone regularly and a family willing to maintain contact between him and his sister would be most ideal.  Jesus needs encouragement, love, and support from a forever family.  He is open to any type of parent(s) but would do best as the only child in the household.
